Everyone tries to be your stress management teacher. The problem is, they just don't know that's what they're doing.

Because we learn how to manage or not mange stress by modeling those around us, starting with our parents, siblings, friends, co-worker, employers, the people we see on TV and in the movies . . . everywhere, we identify with them and we manage our stress the way the folks we identify with do. That is why we are in the trouble we find ourselves.

Stress is the result of the personal judgments we make against something being the way it is. When we make a judgment for things being the way they are there is no resistance, and yet when we make a judgment against things being the way they are it creates resistance, and stress is the result of resistance.

Here is the fundamental understanding you need to be your own Stress Management Teacher:

No Resistance = No Stress

The resistance that creates the stress we need to manage is unseen. We create it by believing what we think should be true or should be true instead of accepting what actually is happening as what's true for the moment and making the necessary "unattached" choices to move us closer to what we want instead.

This is easier said than done because of the way we have been brought up. We have been brought up to pay more attention to our thinking and less attention to our bodies. Unfortunately, when we don't pay attention to our bodies the resistance (stress) builds up and we then have a need to manage the stress, and since we don't know how, we need a Stress Management Teacher who actually knows what they are doing.

Besides myself and my great staff of trained consultants, I recommend wherever you look for a Stress Management Teacher that they primarily help you move the focus of your attention from your mind to your body. Because your body is where the stress resistance is stored, and that is where it needs to be released.

Next you may choose to work on learning to accept things as they are, but until you've released the stress from the body your thinking will want to stay in place, and the end results will be dis-ease, disease, sickness and suffering.
