List of Human Emotions

Without a list of human emotions, and an understanding of how they effect the process, I suppose any discussion of human development or human potential would not be complete.

Before we get too far into this, it might be useful to separate out words that many times we use interchangeably, as well as those used to label feelings (body sensations) and emotions (body sensations) with a meaning attached.

From a structure point of view, an emotion is a body sensation (feeling) to which we attach a label. Even though there are two aspects of an emotion, the usual tendency is to pay minor, and I suspect in many cases very minor, attention to the body sensation and focus most of our attention, if not all, on the "label-meaning" we have attached to the feeling.

A working definition:

A working definition is "energy in motion", thus the label "e-motions". Most every action we take is created and fueled by e-motions.

Off the top of my head (where most of my thinking comes from), I came up with a short list of human emotions:

Love Joy Peace Patience Kindness
Goodness Trust Humility Self Control Anger
Sadness Depression Fear Apathy Pride
Hate Unforgiveness Resentment Jealous Worthless
Anxiety Worry Frustration Happy Glad
Rejection Hurt Insecurity Shame Doubt
Distrust Guilt Helpless Hopeless Flawed

This is just a small sampling of the multitude of emotions I could have listed. An interesting observation that fascinates me is that if we started listing all the emotions we could come up with, the more we would write and the larger the number gap would get between what we term positive and negative emotions.

In other words . . .

We have many more labels for negative emotions
than we do for positive ones.

What Human Emotions actually are:

As far as I can tell, I have to agree with my Uncle Jerry - an emotion is where our illusion overlaps actuality (actual reality). Emotions are not to be held on to, but should be allowed to flow though your system, clearing it out like after a thunderstorm.

I suspect that negative emotions, while seeming more intense, have less clearing power than the positive emotions.
